Over-ride a calculated property to accept a manual value

Many properties in Formpak have calculated values. Examples include GHS pictograms and hazard statements which can be calculated based on hazards entered manually for raw materials. You may additionally have your own property calculations.

Any calculated property can be over-ridden with the following steps:

  1. Go to Modify a Raw Material (or Formulation)
  2. Click on the Properties tab, locate the property you want to over-ride
  3. In the column ‘Is Calculated’ untick the box (if the tick is inaccessible/greyed out, the property will be also located in a different primary property group where it is not greyed out)
  4. In the column ‘Property Value’ click the folder icon to modify the property value to a different value, for example, change to ‘No Value’ or enter a different value.

NOTE: When you make a calculated property manual, it remains manual so if an underlying property changes, which would change a calculated result, the manual result will remain.
Many property calculations look inside raw materials at the compositions to perform calculations. Therefore, do consider and test the effects of using manual property over-rides to ensure you get the result you need and expect.
