Ensuring that a Formulation’s Total Concentration is exactly 100 using Suitability on Properties TOTALCONC and TOTALCONC100

Properties TOTALCONC and TOTALCONC100

If you export Formulations to an ERP system, you may have a requirement to ensure that a Formulation’s Total Concentration is exactly 100 parts, thus ensuring that the concentration of each component is a percentage of the total.

This may be achieved with a couple of non-standard Properties TOTALCONC and TOTALCONC100 along with a Suitability Constraint and/or an additional scope Validity Property.

Property TOTALCONC reflects the Total Concentration of a Formulation; TOTALCONC100 is a Yes/No Property which is Yes when TOTALCONC = exactly 100

Scope Validity Property

If the only Validity consideration is having a total concentration of 100, then Property TOTALCONC100 may be used as the Validity Property, however, if there are additional considerations, you may need a custom Property including logic based on TOTALCONC100 plus the other conditions.

Suitability

Targeting Property TOTALCONC100, a ‘Property Required’ Condition may be set up, ensuring a Pass only when TOTALCONC100 = Yes
